OrthoticMe is designed to work with both the foot and the shoe. All shoes are different and all feet are different, so you not only need a custom solution for the foot, you need a custom solution for the foot and the shoe! OrthoticMe can be customized for any type of shoe, to work with any foot. The foot orthotic is the first modular orthotic that gives the patient full control of the solution to his or her foot pain.

The traditional cleat is horrible for foot health because it has no support. A custom made orthotic wont fit in the cleat and off the shelf solutions do nothing. OrthoticMe takes up very little room in the shoe while still providing the support the foot needs (or at least the most support possible with a small cleat). OrthoticMe is also very light weight. Performance in athletics is improved just as a skiier tunes his skiis. Pressure points in the right areas of the foot can give the athlete an advantage in speed and quickness as well as reduce pain and increase overall foot health. OrthoticMe works great at reducing plantar fasciitis before it occurs in athletes.

OrthoticMe is the first modular foot orthotic to hit the market. With this “lego-like” modular system, the patient or practitioner can build a custom solution from the ground up. This allows the orthotic to work with virtually any shoe. Most custom orthotics are made for a specific foot but do not take into account the shape of the shoe, shoe insole, or shoe insert.   OrthoticMe will work with most any shoe insert and can be customized to both the shoe and the foot. OrthoticMe utilizes both pre-manufactured velcro and composite materials (like carbon fiber) allowing the customer to fully customize the orthotic in virtually any possible shape.

OrthoticMe - custom fit orthotics that work well with existing inserts and insoles.  The patient or practitioner can build a custom fit solution from the ground up.  This allows the custom fit orthotic to work with virtually any shoe insert or shoe insole.  Most custom orthotics are made for a specific foot but do not take into account the shape of the shoe or the contours of the insert or insole inside of the shoe.

Insightful Products launch its new foot orthotic technology that allows the patient or practitioner to create a custom orthotic in just minutes without the need to take foot molds, modify plaster, heat and mold materials, grind, glue or buff. This modular foot orthotic can be fully customized on the spot without the need for any equipment. The patient or practitioner can build and make custom adjustments in just seconds to provide the proper foot correction eliminating foot pain. Using a proprietary velcro and composite system, the Orthotic Me can be built from the ground up to suit not only the specific patient but also the specific shoe the patient may wear.

In this week’s video blog, we have a guest appearance by Diana Bean, granddaughter of LL Bean, who happens to wear Insightful’s Blaze MI brace for post tib (posterior tibial tendonitis). She had some pain in her toe caused by a condition called hammertoes. This condition is not addressed by the Blaze brace, but provided us an opportunity to show how shoes often need adjustment in order to relieve pain and discomfort. In this particular situation, the shoe needed to be marked in the area creating the pressure so that the orthotist could remove some material from the shoe thereby creating more space for the problematic toe. Often times when pressure or irritation is a problem, people incorrectly think that adding padding is the answer. The solution is actually the reverse of what most people might think. Rather than adding more padding or cushioning to the area of the foot and ankle, the answer is to remove material from the shoe or ankle brace, creating the required space. This is called a “relief” for the prominent area of the foot and ankle. This is a practice commonly used in AFO’s or ankle foot orthoses but also is commonly needed in shoe fitting.

In this video testimonial, you hear from a drop foot patient who has tried many AFO’s and drop foot braces over the years and finally found the Step-Smart brace. He talks about his experience with Foot Drop and how it had reduced his quality of life. He is an avid motorcyclist and was not able to change gears so could no longer ride his bike until he found the Step-Smart. With the Step-Smart AFO he is able to do the things he wasnt able to do before, including drive his motorcycle.

In this Week’s vblog, we talk about the use of the term orthotic and how it is more than just a word to describe the Foot orthotic but also the AFO or Ankle Foot Orthosis. Also, we discuss AFO straps and how simple it can be to adjust your strap’s length by simply cutting excess material. We have many foot and ankle patients that dont feel comfortable altering the brace strap but so long as you leave enough of the strap to fasten the brace to the foot and ankle, its fine to cut off the excess material to make the adjustment.

In this week’s episode, we demonstrate how simple it is to put the Schooner Gauntlet style AFO on the foot and in the shoe. This gauntlet AFO is easier to put on than the Arizona AFO, the Buffalo Brace, the TCO, Amber AFO, Rybo, or Mile High AFO. All of these types of braces are used to treat PTTD, Post Tib tendon disorder (Posterior tibial tendonitis) but we believe that donning the Schooner AFO is much easier and fits better in most shoes.

In this week’s episode, we demonstrate how the Step-Smart brace (treatment) for drop foot can be adjusted to track better on the leg. The existing orthotic should be removed from the shoe before inserting the brace. The Step-Smart AFO has a good arch support and foot orthotic built into the braces footplate. This needs to be aligned properly so that the calf section tracks on the leg properly.

In this episode, we compare the Step-Smart AFO with the Dynamic Walk AFO, Dorsi-strap, and Swedish style posterior leaf spring drop foot orthosis / brace. These ankle foot orthoses are compared for shoe fitting, comfort, and general gait proficiency.

This video shows how the Step-Smart fits in most shoes and types of shoes. There is no need to up size or buy medical shoes with our drop foot orthosis.
The Step-Smart drop foot brace is streamlined and low profile. It can even be worn with most dress shoes and sneakers and some sandals, hiking boots, and beach shoes. No need to worry about the brace getting wet either. It should work fine at the beach with the proper beach shoe! Dont be restricted to an ugly medical shoe, wear the shoe that you like. Check out the video and see for yourself how it truly does work with most shoes.
